About

I created Fighter-Aces.com in order to share my work synthesizing data about World War Two fighter aces with fellow modelers, history buffs, and anyone else interested in learning more about the men, women, aircraft, and units who fought the air war. My area of interest and the focus of this site are on the small fighter type aircraft and the pilots who flew them in aerial plane-to-plane combat. I am a retired U.S. Air Force Lieutenant Colonel and a pilot for a major U.S. airline. I have been a model builder since the age of six and am a member of the International Plastic Modelers Society. I strive to make this site an interesting, useful, and informative one stop shop for all things about WWII aces and am very interested in hearing ideas that may help make the site the best it can be. Please use my contact form to give me any feedback you may have.

Sincerely,
Don Johnson
